O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You…know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.
40 Days of Giving During Lent we are called to participate in the three pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. One way to help oth-ers in this way is to participate in 40 Days of Giving. Each day during Lent, put aside one non-perishable food or paper item to donate to the Hope House Food Pantry to help feed the poor. On Sunday when you go to Mass, bring your week’s donations and place them in the box for the food pantry. By bringing your donations weekly, two problems are eliminated. You are not trying to carry 40 donated items to Mass with you on Easter Sunday and the parish is not trying to store all those food items on Easter. The donations will be taken to the food pantry on a weekly basis. See the this week end’s insert
